How to throw a gender reveal party!

We just had our gender reveal party yesterday and hosted about 20 guests! I’ve never attended a gender reveal or hosted one before so we didn’t really know what to expect. It was so fun planning the party and although the anticipation of waiting to find out the gender for 2 weeks was SO hard..it was so worth it to be able to find out the surprise with all of our friends and family! We did a blood test to find out the gender when I was 11 weeks and my sister kept the secret. I’ll link the items we got for the party and how we did the reveal box! We didn’t want the traditional light pink and blue color scheme so we went with navy blue and rose gold. We also thought about doing an all white and gold gender reveal party which I think would be so classy and elegant too!

For the box we bought a large, tall box from home depot and painted it with white wall paint from home depot. The wall paint was thick and only needed 2 coats! My sister drew the gold and pink/blue question marks on with acrylic paint. This part took her a while to do and needed several coats to show up- so if you can opt for a thicker paint you might not need as many coats of paint. My husband attached a hook to the top of the box with rope to hang to the tree and then we cut some of the inside flaps off the bottom of the box so we only had to pull “2 flaps down” to open the box. He attached nails to the inside and put rope through 2 holes for us to pull down on. It was pretty easy to put together! My sister then put blue confetti and blue balloons inside the box (without us knowing)

Here is everything we purchased inside for the box!

For decorations we went with navy and rose gold with some gold accents! We kept it pretty simple for food and drinks since our party was at 2pm and figured most people would eat before or after the party!
