Charleston Travel Guide

We just got back from our babymoon in Charleston and absolutely loved it! I had a ton of you guys ask for our recommendations so I wanted to do a blog post and share everything we loved about the city!

Charleston Travel Guide

First of all Charleston is the perfect place for a babymoon! Everything is very walkable, there are delicious mocktails on every menu (which is hard to find in Austin for some reason) and they had the cutest baby boutiques on King Street! Babymoon or not… I would for sure recommend checking out Charleston!

We got in Thursday and left Monday afternoon and we felt like this was the perfect amount of time for this city. We had 3 full days there and felt like any more time would have been too much unless we planned to do a beach trip with this visit.

The time of year wasn’t the best time to go in my opinion, it was pretty cold and windy pretty much everyday. The day we left it got up to 70 (of course) and was super nice out. Most days it was in the 50’s and to me that was a little too cold! I would say going later in March or the summer would be ideal!

We walked pretty much everywhere we wanted to go and only had to take an uber a couple of times. Everything was super easy to get to and very easy to explore the whole city by foot! I LOVED the location of our hotel. It was right next to 3 really popular restaurants (we tried them all) and a very easy walk to king street, and literally anywhere else in the city!

Hotels:

We stayed at the Mills House Wyndham and we loved it! It was reasonably priced and the location was AMAZING. We were right in the middle of everything and able to walk everywhere we wanted to go! The bed wasn’t super comfortable but I’m also pregnant so nothing is comfortable to me right now haha. That was really my only complaint. Overall I would definitely recommend staying here and would again, because you can’t beat this location in Charleston.

The Restoration Hotel, Hotel Bennet, and The Belmond Hotel also looked really cute, but our location seemed more ideal and the price was better at ours too!. We also looked at King Charles Inn before we went with the Wyndham.
