How to make a keepsake box for your child!

I had a lot of questions about how I made our son’s School Keepsake Box! It was super easy and it will be a great way to keep all of his school documents, artwork, and keepsakes organized through the years!

I started by purchasing this filebox to put everything in. Its a double size file box so it is really long and has a ton of room left over still from what we already have started in the box. We will just double up on file folders per grade as needed through the years! We will make a cute graphic at some point for the front once we 100% decide on his name! Yes, I have 18 years of a keepsake box organized before he even has a name….haha!

Then I purchased these file folders to put in the box! And placed these labels in the right hand corner with his school year, teacher name, and school. I just wrote mine myself! (See photo above!) I will add a picture of him each year to the other side as well!

We have labels from ages one-four, preschool, kindergarden-12th grade, college/trade and an “other” section.

I purchased these tabs separately because I didn’t like the ones that came with the file folders!

I’ll put these in the elementary school grade, since he probably won’t want to fill these out when he’s much older than that! I thought this would be a fun little activity for each school year.

It would also be cute to write a letter to him on certain years, like his first birthday, first day of kindergarden, first day of middle school. first day of high school, and first day of college. I would put these in each folder and give it to him with each milestone.

And thats it! Super easy and a great way to organize your childs keepsakes through the years! I hope you guys enjoyed this post!
