Being a hairstylist, I have the opportunity to try tons and tons of different professional products. From hair products, skin care products, makeup...you name it, I've tried it. Just one of the fabulous perks of being in the Beauty Industry! With that being said, I've put together a carefully chosen list of my can't live without beauty products, that I have in my life...at all times.
1. Purple Shampoo
To keep my hair shiny, bright and from getting brassy in between color services... I use a purple shampoo weekly. I leave it on for about 3-5 minutes in the shower, it acts like a "toner" for my very light blonde hair. After I use it my hair has a "cooler" tint to it, and it cuts any yellow tones out of my hair. My absolute favorites are the Unite Blonda Shampoo and the Joico Color Balance. Joico also makes a "blue" shampoo for all of the brunettes out there! This one cuts out warmth as well and is geared towards darker hair colors.
2. Dry Shampoo
My next obsession is dry shampoo. I normally wash my hair 3 days a week. I have to wash my hair at night because it would take me forever to shower, wash, blow dry and style my hair in the mornings! And after styling hair all day long, the last thing I want to do when I come home is wash and then style my own. So, I've established a routine that works for me, allowing me to get away with skipping shampoos during the work week! I wouldn't be able to go this long without my favorite dry shampoos! So, I've narrowed it down to 3 that give my hair texture, leave no white residue, absorb oil and smell great! I literally couldn't decide which one to talk about. So here's all 3:
Kerastase Powder Bluff
Bumble and Bumble Pret-a-Powder
R+Co Death Valley Dry Shampoo
3. Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner
Numbers 3 & 4 go hand in hand for me. I like to think of it this way, Moisture + Protein= really healthy hair. I alternate between using a moisturizing shampoo and conidtioner, and restoring shampoo and conditioner every other time I shampoo. So for moisture, once a week I use my Kerastase Bain Satin 2 (Shampoo) and Fondant Nutri-Thermique (Conditioner) This shampoo and Conditioner combo gives my hair the moisture that it needs to stay soft, hydrated, and nourished.
4. Restoring Shampoo & Conditioner
Continuing from number 3, the next time I wash my hair after my Moisturizing combo, I use my favorite restoring shampoo from Living Proof to give my hair the protein it needs, Restore Shampoo and Conditioner This Shampoo and Conditioner is honestly one of the best that I've used for damaged, dry hair that needs rebuilding. All of Living Proofs products also make my hair feel super clean, longer than any other shampoo that I've used.
5. An Intensive "Therapy" Treatment System
Since I regularly highlight my hair to a very light blonde, and use heat products daily, my hair is fragile and damaged. But, you would never know it by looking at my hair...because I give it lots of love with good products!! On Sundays, I normally wash my hair with my purple shampoo and then follow that with Kerastase's brand new Resistance Therapiste This treatment line is awesome, its not like your average shampoo and conditioner!!! It's like therapy for your hair...and I use to to give my hair extra conditioning. I use the shampoo, conditioner, and the masque, and I let the masque sit on for at least 15 minutes...but most of the time I just let it sit on all day.
I absolutely LOVE Jane Iredale's Smooth Affair Primer! I normally start my morning routine by applying it all over my face and then applying my foundation after. It is very uplifting and helps to minimize my pores, keeps my makeup on all day, firms my skin, prevents moisture loss, and creates luminosity. Yea...its awesome.
Concealer is this girls best friend. And I love Jane Iredale's circle delete line. Not only do I use it to cover the dark circles under my eyes, I use it to highlight my brow bone and also as a highlighter around my lips to make them appear fuller. It comes with 2 different colors, so I use the darker one for under my eyes, and the lighter one for my brow bone and lips.
8. Tinted Moisturizer (with SPF)
I obviously love all things Jane and I couldn't live without my Dream Tint Tinted Moisturizer. It has an SPF of 15, and I know it works after a recent trip to Cali! My whole body got burnt.. but not my face! Thank you Dream Tint! I have dryer skin, so I love the moisturizing effect, that still isn't too heavy. It's also nice because I can use the Dream Tint alone without any powder foundation and it still gives me enough coverage!
9. Younique Mascara
I recently started using Younique and I will never use another mascara or wear false lashes again! It gives me the false lash look, and makes my lashes look super thick and full. I have even tried other brands of 3D Fiber Lash Mascara and nothing compares.
10. Bitty Brow Kit
Last but not least, the product I will not leave my house without applying. On my off days, I normally just apply a little eyeliner, mascara and of course... groom my brows. You'd be surprised what a difference it can make! I love the Bitty Brow Kit from Jane Iredale. It adds color and shapes my brows for a more defined look.
Thanks for all the support I've gotten from my blog! I hope you enjoyed my favorite product guide, and don't forget, we sell Jane Iredale, Kerastase and Living Proof at Blonde Faith Salon!
